To be inducted into the Hall of Fame with all the other former athletes and coaches that played a part in the success of Trevecca athletics is very humbling and I am very appreciative for this recognition. This honor would not even be possible without the guidance & support from my parents, former teammates, and coaches."

Julie van Beek Heisey recruited and coached Mariska Reed Harris her first year. She said, "I started watching Mariska as a freshmen in high school. I loved her competitive spirit and the fact that she showed No Fear. She thrived on challenges. In two big games in high school I saw her hit huge game-winning shots. I loved that quality. Not only did she want to take the big shot, she could make the big shot."
"Mariska played a lot as a freshman because she was good and we had a lot of injuries. She adjusted and learned while she played. With a smile I say one her biggest learning curves was recognizing that she had a 6-5 post in the middle! We reminded her in film sessions and pointing out there is Jackie and she is open and you can pass it to her inside!
"Mariska was a hard worker, a fierce competitor and a woman of high character. I loved coaching her freshman year and following her the next three with coach Van Atta. It was not a surprise they made the finals."
Heisey concluded, "I am most proud of who she is now. She loves Jesus and tries to glorify Him. She loves being a wife and mom, and she done a great job coaching at both the collegiate and high school levels."
