NASHVILLE – Ashlie Gilland was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday, November 9, 2013, during Homecoming weekend. Gilland, a former women’s basketball player, and Luke Brown, from the Trojan baseball program, will comprise the Trevecca Hall of Fame class of 2013.
There are now a total of 57 members in the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame, which was started in 1993.
With both former athletes still in the area, the Trevecca athletic department was able to surprise both of them with the news that they will soon be members of the Trevecca Hall of Fame.

Gilland, a 5-10 forward from Madison, Tenn., played for some of Trevecca’s best women’s basketball teams, including the 2006 team that won a school record 31 games. Gilland, who starred at Nashville’s Hunters Lane High School, was a two-time NAIA All-American third team selection (2006, 2005) and was voted to the 2005 NAIA National Championships All-tournament team. On the conference level she was a TranSouth first team selection on two occasions, and made the TranSouth All-Tournament team in 2006 and the All-Freshman team in 2002.
Gilland played three years for coach Julie van Beek before playing her final season for current Trojan coach, Gary Van Atta. Gilland sat out the 2003 season, but returned to complete her career in All-American style. She helped lead her team to an average of 23.25 wins per season and 10 wins each year in conference play. She also helped lead the program to the NAIA Elite Eight for the first time in 2005, and the team repeated that feat in 2006. She showed her athletic versatility by playing with the Trojan softball team her senior year, a team that advanced to the NAIA Championships as well.
