Clay Boone was a NAIA Honorable Mention all-American for the Trevecca baseball team while playing for the Trojans from 1987-90. Boone's all-American season was in 1989 when he was named to the NAIA All-Area 5 team, All-District 24, and All-Conference teams.

During his junior (1989), Boone had a career high .361 batting average, played error free, scored 49 runs, and successfully stole 31 of 32 stolen base attempts.

Boone held the career stolen base record for 15 years. Boone finished his career second in runs scored, third in triples, fourth in doubles, and sixth in RBI. Boone still ranks in the top five in career second in stolen bases (91) and runs scored (198), fourth in triples (9), and fifth in doubles (35). As a sophomore Boone successfully stole 22 consecutive bases.


1986-1987
• Batted .324 and had 13 stolen bases

1987-1988
• Batted .326    Stole 25 bases of 26 attempts
• Had 22 consecutive stolen bases    Had 65 hits and scored 60 runs

1988-1989
• Had a career high .361 batting average
• No errors in centerfield (tied a Trevecca record)
• Had 72 hits and scored 49 runs
• Led the team with 31 stolen bases out of 32 attempts
• Team ranked #8 in the final NAIA National Rankings (highest ranking up to that time)
• Named to the NAIA All-Area 5 team, All-District 24, and All-Conference teams
• Named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Team

1989-1990
• Had 52 hits and scored 56 runs
• Led the team with 22 stolen bases out of 25 attempts
• Named to the All-Conference Team

Started every game during his four years at Trevecca
Held the career record of 91 stolen bases for 15 years
Maintains a top five ranking in four career categories: second in stolen bases (91) and
     runs scored (198), fourth in triples (9), and fifth in doubles (35)
