Coon set six new records in 2005, three single season and three career marks. Upon completing two-years at Trevecca, Coon held the single-season and career records for stolen bases (51 season, 96 career), stolen-base attempts (55 season, 106 career), and triples (8 season, 15 career).

Coon commented about the news that he would be a part of the 2014 Trevecca Hall of Fame class, "Being inducted into the Trevecca Hall of Fame is a great honor. With the support of great teammates and the guidance of Coach Forehand, I was able to play the game at a high level and represent Trevecca in a positive way. Even after Coach Forehand and I left Trevecca, the coaches and players that followed welcomed me back each winter to work out with the team."

Coon led the Trojans to their first-ever TranSouth regular season and tournament championship in 2005. The team also advanced to the first NAIA Region-XI Tournament in program history.

Jeff Forehand recruited Coon to Trevecca and coached him during his two years with the team. Forehand loved Coon as a player and athlete, but soon learned there was more to him than baseball, "I could talk all day about Brad. In addition to being one of the best players I have coached, he is also a good person. He is a person who deserves success. He was a fabulous player. He is a fabulous person. There is no way one can't be excited about him going into the Hall of Fame.”

"It was his talent and his bat on top of his will and desire, along with his character, that made him the perfect fit for Trevecca."

As a senior Coon hit .377 with 72 runs, 20 doubles, eight triples, four home runs, 42 RBI, 39 walks, and stole 51 of 55 stolen-base attempts.

In his junior season, he hit .421 with 69 runs, 14 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs, 51 RBI, 23 walks, and made 45 of 41 stolen-base attempts. He had a .469 on-base percentage and a .631 slugging percentage. Coon was successful on 96 of his 106 stolen-base attempts.

"He was gifted with talent. He was gifted with speed. He could have played center field for any school in the country. He changed the game more than any player I have ever coached. When he came to the plate, he was going to make something happen every time. He ran every ball down in center field. Nothing was going to drop,” said Forehand.

His two-year numbers including a .400 batting average, 11 homeruns, 93 RBI, 181 hits, 141 runs, 34 doubles, 15 triples. 60 walks, and a .987 field percentage (just three errors in 230 career chances).

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected Coon with the 463rd pick in the 15th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur draft. Coon is the highest draft pick in Trevecca baseball history.

Coon played eight seasons of professional baseball for four different Major League organizations. Coon spent six years inside the Angels organization, reaching as high as Triple-A.

Coon, who played for Jeff Forehand at Trevecca, is now an assistant with Forehand’s Lipscomb University baseball team.

A graduate of Eastlake North High School in Eastlake, Ohio. Coon attended Lakeland Community College in Coles County, Ill. where he was an All-Region and two-time All-Conference selection before transferring to Trevecca.
