Brittiany Johnson Tate in the category of Student Athlete after a stellar softball career in the Purple and White.
 
"Trevecca didn't choose me, I didn't choose Trevecca, I believe God chose Trevecca for me. He knew what he was doing when Ernie Reynolds gave me that call," Johnson said of her experience at Trevecca. "God led me to an environment full of Christ and some of the kindest most nurturing people I will ever know. He also led me to meet the awesome, Coach Reynolds. This man completely motivated me everyday to be my best. He taught me an incredible amount about the game and life. That is something no one can take away. Ultimately, Trevecca helped shape me into the person I am today. I am forever grateful for the wonderful experiences and opportunities TNU gave me. These precious memories, I get to carry for the rest of my life."
 
Brittiany Johnson Tate played for the Trevecca softball program for three years after transferring from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The Pulaski, Tenn. native is a product of Richland High School.
 
Ernie Reynolds was her coach at Trevecca and said, "Brittiany Johnson was a true impact player both in the pitching circle and at the plate. She brought her best to the field everyday and gave us great performances under pressure, oftentimes on little rest. Her durability, strength and natural talent made her an iconic figure around the NAIA softball world."
 
Johnson is a three-time NAIA All-American. At the time of her graduation she held the career record for home runs and RBI in the batting category. in the circle she held the record for wins (116), innings pitched (838.1), strikeouts (1186), complete games (78), and appearances (159). She also held seven season records including RBI (66) and wins (42).
 
Senior Season (2008): pitching - 39-6 record, .74 earned run average, 397 strikeouts, 285.2 innings, 27 complete games, seven shutouts, one save.  BATTING – AVERAGE .446, 25 runs, 87 hits, 23 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 61 rbi. 
 
Junior Season (2007): pitching - 42-7 record, 1.18 earned run average, 339 strikeouts, 267.1 innings, 26 complete games, 10 shutouts, one save. batting - .445 average, 38 runs, 93 hits, 13 doubles, 16 homeruns, 66 rbi, .737 slugging percentage.
 
Sophomore Season (2006): pitching - 22-7 record, 1.08 earned run average, 301 strikeouts, 181.2 innings, two saves, 14 Complete games, three shuouts. batting - .413 AVERAGE, 18 runs, 52 hits, 12 doubles, 15 homeruns, 39 rbi, .865 slugging percentage
 
Career Statistics: pitching – 103-20, .98 earned run average, 67 complete games, 20 shutouts, four saves, 1037 strikeouts, 734.2 innings pitched. batting - .438 average, 81 runs, 232 hits 48 doubles, three triples, 37 homeruns, 166 rbi, .749 slugging percentage.
 
Career Notes: Named the TranSouth Pitcher of the Week 13 times. Named NAIA Region XI Pitcher of the Week nine times and NAIA National Pitcher of the Week twice. Named NAIA Region XI and TranSouth Pitcher of the Year three times. Named first team NAIA Region XI and TranSouth three times. Named TranSouth Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
