Fred Harris played basketball at Trevecca for the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons. In only two years, Harris amassed 1,154 career points putting him 18th on the Trevecca all-time scoring list.
In his junior year, Harris averaged 15.5 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, and was named to the All-Conference Team. In his senior year, Harris led the team averaging 20.4 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and again being named to the All-Conference Team.
Trevecca was 4-24 the year prior to Harris' arrival; his senior year, Harris led the team to a winning record, breaking a streak of seven consecutive losing seasons.
