Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame
Jeff Forehand in the category of coach for his work leading the Trojan baseball program.
Jeff Forehand was hired by former Trevecca athletic director Alan Smith to take over the Trojan baseball program in 2001. In six seasons the former Goodpasture School coach and Belmont College baseball player led Trevecca to 211 wins.
Forehand commented on the honor of going into the Trevecca hall of fame, "Trevecca is such a special place for my family and I. We did win some games and that is always fun, but it is the people that make Trevecca so great. The players that my family got to know and the relationships we established is what we cherish!"
"My wife and I talk about often about how Trevecca holds a special place in our hearts. I'm so thankful that Coach Smith gave me the opportunity because this place impacted my family and I forever. We will never forget our time here on the Hill!"
He took over a program that had just one winning season since 1994 and produced four winning seasons and three of the programs six 40-win seasons. His 2005 team set the record for most wins in a season with 47 and were 47-16.
His teams produced 10 NAIA All-American's and 10 NAIA Region XI First Team selections.
He was named the NAIA Region XI Coach of the Year in 2004. That 2004 team achieved the highest ranking for a Trevecca athletic team to date when they reached No. 4 in the NAIA Rankings.
The 2005 team took home the TranSouth regular season and tournament titles and made the NAIA Region XI tournament for the first time.
In 2006 the team reached the NAIA Region XI Championship game and another 42 wins.
His teams averaged 35.2 wins per season.
Additionally, his six years produced 26 first or second team TranSouth all-conference selections and five players advanced to the professional ranks.
