NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University STUNT (20-8) opened the 2026 College STUNT National Championships for NCAA Division II with a 27-22 win over Ashland University on Thursday morning at Allen Arena on the Lipscomb University campus.
The Trojans, the No. 8 seed, defeated No. 9 Ashland (16-8, 8-2 G-MAC) in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament to move forward in the winner's bracket.
In doing so, the Trojans, who are in their third season as a program, earned their second consecutive 20-win season.
Trevecca advances to face No. 1 Oklahoma Baptist University (13-1) on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. The winner moves on to Game 17 on Friday at 7 p.m., while the loser drops to the elimination bracket and will play Friday at 10:15 a.m.
Oklahoma Baptist won the two previous meetings between the programs, including a 30-6 result earlier this season at the SEU Invitational in Austin, Texas, and a 24-1 decision at the 2024 College STUNT Nationals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening quarter ended even at 3-3 before Trevecca created separation in the second, outscoring Ashland 6-3 to take a 9-6 lead into halftime.
Ashland responded in the third quarter, edging Trevecca 5-4 to trim the margin to 13-11. The Trojans answered in the fourth, securing a 14-11 advantage in the final segment to close out the 27-22 victory.
Trevecca finished with a 3-1 edge in rounds won outright and held an 8-3 advantage in rounds decided within two points.
