HOW IT HAPPENED – No. 6 ASHLAND
The victory over Ashland moves TNU into a tie with Ashland for first place in the Great Midwest standings. It is the first ever loss for the Ashland Eagles in Great Midwest play. The defending conference champs were undefeated in conference play last season, including the conference postseason championships, and were undefeated heading into the Music City Classic. Trevecca's 14 points against Ashland are the most points any Great Midwest team had ever scored against them. The previous high was 11. That happened twice, once by Hiram last year and Trevecca earlier this year.
Trevecca collected three points on the partner stunts and two more in the second quarter to take a 5-3 advantage. After splitting points in the third quarter, the Trojans used a big fourth quarter to claim the win. With just a single point in the opening round in the fourth, Trevecca collected three points each in the second and third rounds respectively for the win.
Mikayla McCoy, Olivia Jarrell and
Kaitlyn Probus each scored 13 points with a rating of 41.
HOW IT HAPPENED – No. 10 TIFFIN
For the second time this season, Trevecca defeated Tiffin 22-0. The win is the Trojans' fifth shutout win of the season.
Despite dropping just two points in the first quarter, the Trojans collected all the points the rest of the way.
Mikayla McCoy led the way with a score of 21 and a rating of 59 while five other Trojans collected a rating of 50 or higher.
Katie Young and
Abby Woodring both finished the game with 20 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED – No. 3 CONCORDIA IRVINE
Trevecca fell behind early, but rallied to take the lead on Concordia Irvine, surprising everyone in the Trojan Fieldhouse. CUI rallied in the fourth quarter to secure the win and avoid the upset at the hands of the Trojans.
HOW IT HAPPENED – No. 2 UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
The Wildcats took and early lead and continued to build on it over the course of the game. Trevecca actually scored a point in the first routine of the first quarter and then in the final routine of the fourth quarter to avoide the shutout against the SEC opponent.
