NORTH CANTON, OH – The Trevecca STUNT team continued its strong start to the season, earning two victories over Ashland University and Mercyhurst University. With these wins, the Trojans improve to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the MAWC conference.

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene University STUNT team (5-1, 2-1 MAWC) continued its strong start to the season, earning two victories over No. 8 Ashland University (4-2) and new conference foe, No. 3 (NCAA D1) Mercyhurst University (2-4, 1-3 MAWC).

The Trojans, in just their second season as a program, are competing in the Mid America West Conference (MAWC) this season. A conference that includes the University of Kentucky, University of Tennessee at Martin, Mercyhurst University, Northern Kentucky University, Missouri State University, and the University of Central Arkansas.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GM 1 // ASHLAND Trevecca showcased its dominance early, building an 8-1 lead by halftime. Despite a strong fourth quarter push by the Eagles, the Trojans maintained control and secured a 16-10 victory. The all-time series is now tied 3-3.

The Trevecca-Ashland series has been tight, but this meeting, the sixth all-time, produced the largest margin of victory for either team. The largest margin of victory in the previous five meetings, was four points. The last two meetings went into overtime. In the last meeting of the 2024 season, at the College STUNT Nationals, the teams made history becoming the first teams to play an overtime game at nationals. Two of the first five meetings were decided by two points and two came down to just one point.

GM 2 // MERCYHURST In their second game of the day, the Trojans controlled the tempo from start to finish. A commanding performance limited Mercyhurst to just three total points, as Trevecca secured an 11-3 victory and an important division win.

UP NEXT Trevecca continues to compete in North Canton, Ohio, for the Walsh Cavalier Classic, facing a challenging Saturday. The day begins with an early 9:15 AM matchup against NCAA DIII No. 1 Hiram College, followed by a showdown with former conference opponent No. 12 Tiffin University at 11:45 AM to close out the tournament.
