OPELIKA, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team finished second at the Lawrence Tech University Invitational, the Trojans' first tournament of the spring semester.
Mattie Goad finished third overall and made the LTU Invite All-Tournament Team.
Lawrence Tech hosted the event at the RTJ Grand National – Lake Course. The course played to a par of 72 over 6,018 yards. Eight teams and 43 individuals competed in the 54-hole tournament, which was contested over three days with 18 holes played each day.
Trevecca secured the runner-up finish after shooting 973 (314-325-334) for the tournament.
Freshman
Mattie Goad led Trevecca with a third-place individual finish, carding a 236 (76-80-80) over the three rounds. Goad also led the field in scoring on par-4 holes with a 4.30 average.

TROJAN HIGHLIGHTS
As a team, the Trojans led the field on par-3 holes with a 3.50 scoring average and ranked second on par-4 holes with a 4.57 average.
Madison Hull recorded the lowest scoring average on par-3 holes at 3.08. Hull also ranked among the field leaders on par-4 holes with a 4.50 average, the fourth-best mark in the tournament.
Makenzie Norwood posted the fifth-lowest scoring average on par-3 holes at 3.42 per hole.
Kamryn Vester, competing as an individual, recorded a team-high six birdies, which tied for fifth-most in the field. Vester also posted the fourth-best scoring average on par-5 holes at 5.17.
Trevecca finished second among the teams with 18 birdies during the tournament. Vester's six birdies were the most by a Trojan during the event.

In Wednesday's second round, the Trojans shot a 325 and were second overall for the second day in a row.
Kamryn Vester, playing as an individual, led the Trojans with a four-over-par 76 and was tied for seventh in the field with a 83-76=159.
Mattie Goad was tied for third overall with a 76-80=156
On Tuesday, in the first round, the Trojans opened with a 314 and are in second overall.
Mattie Goad was tied for the lead with a four-over-par 76. The 76 is tied for her second-best collegiate round. She carded a 73 in the fall for her career low.
Emma Almquist and
Makenzie Norwood each carded a 78 in the first round and were tied for fifth overall.

The Greenwood Invitational follows on March 23-24 at the Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood, S.C.
Subsequent on the schedule is the CSU Cougar Classic in Columbus, Ga. at the Green Island Country Club on March 30-31.
The Trojans play closer to home at the Music City Classic at the Hermitage Golf Course and the General's Retreat in Old Hickory, Tenn. The Cumberland University hosted tournament is April 13-14.
The Trojans host the 2026 Gulf South Championships at the Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. on April 20-21-22.
