DICKSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team opened play at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships in fourth place after Monday's first round at Greystone Golf Club.

The three-round event features nine teams and 46 individuals competing on a par 72 course playing 6,002 yards.
Trevecca posted a 307 (+19) in the opening round, placing fourth in the team standings. Five teams in the field are ranked among the NCAA Division II Top 50, including No. 26 West Florida, which leads after day one.
Freshman Mattie Goad led the Trojans with a one-under-par 71, sitting third overall in the 46-player field. Goad is one of only two players under par through the opening round.
Emma Almquist followed with a four-over 76 and is tied for 10th. Makenzie Norwood and Madison Hull each carded eight-over 80s and are tied for 23rd, while Kamryn Vester posted an 87 (+15) and is 35th.
Trevecca recorded 10 birdies as a team, tied for second in the field, and added 46 pars, fifth among the nine teams. The Trojans ranked tied for fourth on par-three scoring (3.40), fifth on par-four scoring (4.40), and tied for third on par-five scoring (5.30).
Goad led the field in par-five scoring with a three-under average (4.25) and is second overall with five birdies. She also ranks tied for seventh on par-four scoring (4.10).
Norwood posted an even-par average (3.00) on par-three holes, second best in the field.
Almquist totaled 12 pars, fifth most among all competitors.
Hull recorded three birdies, while Almquist and Norwood each added one.
