DICKSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships at Greystone Golf Club. The three-round event features nine teams and 46 individuals competing on a par 72 course playing 6,002 yards.

The Trojans have posted rounds of 307 and 317 for a 36-hole total of 624 (+48) in the nine-team field.

The 307 in Monday's opening round ties the school record for lowest single round in program history. The 2021-22 team posted a 307 in the second round of the Music City Invitational at the Hermitage Golf Course.

The one-under par 71 in the first round by Mattie Goad and her 147 through 36 holes are two of the best marks in school history. The 71 is the lowest Trojan round since Makenzie Norwood shot a 70 at the season Blue Moon Invitational to open the 2024 season, which tied her for the second lowest round in program history. The 71 is the third lowest score posted by a Trojan.

The three-round 54-hole GSC championship concludes Wednesday with the final 18 holes to determine the team champion and individual Medalist.

Mattie Goad moved into second place overall in the 46-player field. The freshman recorded a 71 (-1) in the opening round and followed with a 76 (+4) on Tuesday for a two-day total of 147 (+3), two shots off the lead.

Emma Almquist is tied for 15th at 154 (+10) after rounds of 76 and 78. Madison Hull is 28th at 162 (+18), while Makenzie Norwood is tied for 29th at 165 (+21). Kamryn Vester is tied for 34th at 168 (+24).

Trevecca ranks second in the field in par-three scoring with a 3.25 average and is fourth on par-five scoring at 5.30. The Trojans are second in the field with 18 birdies, one behind Mississippi College.

Goad leads the field in par-five scoring at three-under-par (4.63 average) and is second on par-three scoring at even-par (3.00). She also leads the tournament with eight birdies through two rounds.

Almquist is tied for third in the field with 24 pars.
