NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (41-11, 23-3 Great Midwest) is the top seed at the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, which are set for May 1-4, 2024 at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.

Trevecca faces No. 8 Malone University (28-18, 13-13 Great Midwest) at 11:00 AM (CT) to open the championships at the Firestone Stadium in Akron.
Trevecca defeated Malone in their regular season doubleheader, 8-0 and 10-2, in Nashville April 5. The Trojans hold a 13-5 advantage in the series and have won the last four meetings.
This is the second meeting all-time for the two teams in the postseason. Malone won that only previous meeting, 3-1, at the 2019 Great Midwest Championships, ending the Trojans season.
The Trojans lead the Great Midwest this season in hitting (.324), fielding (.972), and are third in earned run average (2.29).

GREAT MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Trevecca owns six regular season Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships. The Trojans won the first four regular-season titles and postseason championships. Then a fifth regular season title in 2021 and a sixth in 2024.
ALL-TIME TREVECCA NOTES
The Trojans are assured of their 24th consecutive winning season, dating back to the 2000-2001 season. The first winning season came in the Trojans first season, 22-20, in 1991-1992, but next winning season didn't come until the 2000-2001 season and the program continues that winning tradition again with the 2023-24 season.
This is the twelfth season for Trevecca with an NCAA Division II schedule.

NCAA MIDWEST REGION APPEARANCES
The Trojans were the first Great Midwest team to reach the region level and also are the first to win games at the NCAA level.
Trevecca first reached the NCAA championships in 2015 and didn't waste time, going again in 2016. Following the break for COVID, note the Trojans started the year 15-3 and were No. 10 when COVID interrupted their season, the Trojans returned to the region in 2021 and 2022.
BEN TYREE BY THE NUMBERS
Ben Tyree is in his 16th year leading the Trevecca softball program. The veteran coach owns eleven 30-win seasons, eight in the Div. II Era.
Tyree holds the most wins in Trevecca history and has more Great Midwest wins than any other coach in league history.
