NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball's Annalise Mecklenburg has been named the Gulf South Conference Athletic Solutions Freshman of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Mecklenburg, a freshman from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, helped Trevecca win two of three games against Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference play.
Mecklenburg hit .625 (6-for-8) during the week with two home runs, four RBI, five runs scored, and 11 total bases. She posted a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .727 on-base percentage, adding one walk and two hit-by-pitch. Mecklenburg recorded two multi-hit games and had at least one hit in each game of the series.
In Friday's doubleheader, Mecklenburg hit a solo home run in Game 2 and finished with multiple hits.
In Saturday's series finale, Mecklenburg went 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. She hit a three-run home run in the second inning as Trevecca secured an 8-6 win to clinch the series.
Mecklenburg has started 18 games this season and leads the team with a .404 batting average. She has 14 RBI and 32 total bases.
Trevecca takes to the road for their next two series encompassing six games. First, the Trojans hit Memphis for a three-game series beginning with a single game on Friday, March 27, at 2:00 PM. Saturday, the two teams play a doubleheader beginning at Noon. Over the Easter weekend, West Alabama hosts the Trojans for a three-game set, beginning with a single game on Thursday, April 2, at 5:00 PM. The series concludes with a Friday doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM.
The Trojans return home on Friday, April 10, for a trio of games with the Delta State Lady Statesmen. The Friday doubleheader begins at 1:00 PM, while the first pitch for the single game Saturday is set for 1:00 PM.
