Trevecca Softball | Bailey Goad Adds NFCA South All-Region First Team to Breakout Freshman Season

NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball freshman Bailey Goad added another major honor to her breakout 2026 season, earning National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) South All-Region First Team recognition.

Goad becomes one of the top postseason honorees in the South Region after helping lead Trevecca to a remarkable run to the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championship game and one of the most memorable postseason stretches in program history.

The freshman from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee emerged as one of the Gulf South Conference's top two-way players throughout the season and elevated her play even further during the postseason.

Goad previously earned First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors after finishing the regular season with a .359 batting average, 37 hits, 27 runs scored, five doubles, two triples, three home runs, and 16 RBI while posting a .534 slugging percentage and .417 on-base percentage. Inside the circle, she anchored the Trevecca pitching staff with a 12-8 record, 3.54 ERA, 105 strikeouts, and 11 complete games during the regular season.

For the year, Goad hit .345 with 28 runs, 40 hits, five doubles, three triples, four homeruns, 22 RBI, .543 sluggling percentage, 11 walks, .398 on base percentage, and was 6-6 in stolen bases.

In the circle, Goad went 15-9 with a 3.50 era, 28 appearances, 25 starts, 14 complete games, two shutouts, 156. innings pitched with 55 walks and 124 strikeouts.

During Trevecca's run to the Gulf South Conference Championship game, Goad helped power the Trojans to victories over No. 14 nationally ranked West Florida twice and Mississippi College as the No. 8 seed advanced all the way to Championship Saturday.

Goad delivered one of the tournament's signature performances in Trevecca's opening-round upset of top-seeded West Florida. She hit a two-run home run in the first inning and tossed a complete game as the Trojans stunned the nationally ranked Argonauts 6-4 at Choccolocco Park.

Later in the tournament, Goad again dominated West Florida in an elimination game, leading Trevecca to a 9-1 victory that made the Trojans the lowest seed to reach the GSC Championship game since 2012. In that win, Goad went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBI while also throwing another complete game in the circle.

Against Mississippi College in the second round, Goad earned the win in relief, tossing 3.1 innings with four strikeouts as Trevecca rallied for a 7-3 extra-inning victory.

For the tournament, Goad finished 3-1 in the circle with 19 strikeouts across 23.1 innings while also contributing offensively with three hits, including a triple, and six RBI. She was named to the Gulf South Conference All-Tournament Team alongside teammates Annabelle Ellis, Brianna Asmondy, and Sarah Nicholson.

Trevecca finished the season 22-19 overall after entering the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed and advancing to the Gulf South Conference Championship game. The Trojans secured the program's 26th consecutive winning season and continued a streak of at least 20 wins in 26 straight years.
