NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball freshman
Bailey Goad added another major postseason honor to an award-filled debut season on the Hill, earning 2026 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team recognition as a utility player/pitcher.
Goad also earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) South All-Region First Team honors following a freshman season that established her as one of the premier two-way players in the Gulf South Conference and South Region.
The Mt. Juliet, Tennessee native helped lead Trevecca to a 22-19 record and a berth in the Gulf South Conference Championship game as the No. 8 seed, becoming the first recorded No. 8 seed to advance to the GSC title game. The Trojans also secured the program's 26th consecutive winning season and extended a streak of 20-win seasons that dates back to 2000-01.
Goad previously earned First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors and was selected to the Gulf South Conference All-Tournament Team after a dominant postseason run in Oxford, Alabama.
In the circle, Goad finished the season with a 15-9 record and a 3.50 ERA across 28 appearances and 25 starts. She threw 14 complete games and two shutouts while logging 156 innings pitched.
The freshman struck out 124 batters against 55 walks and limited opponents to a .278 batting average. She ranked among the team leaders in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, and complete games while serving as the anchor of the Trevecca pitching staff throughout the season and postseason.
At the plate, Goad hit .345 with a .941 OPS while starting all 39 games. In 116 at-bats, she totaled 40 hits, 28 runs scored, five doubles, three triples, four home runs, and 22 RBI.
She posted a .543 slugging percentage and .398 on-base percentage while drawing 11 walks and striking out only nine times all season. Goad also finished 6-for-6 in stolen-base attempts and did not ground into a double play during the year.
Goad elevated her play during Trevecca's run to the Gulf South Conference Championship game. During postseason action, she posted a 3-1 record with a 3.30 ERA across four appearances and three starts while striking out 19 batters in 23.1 innings pitched. She also threw three complete games during tournament play.
Among the highlights of the postseason was Trevecca's pair of wins over No. 14 nationally ranked and top-seeded West Florida. In the opening-round upset victory, Goad hit a two-run home run and threw a complete game in a 6-4 win. Later in the tournament, she again defeated the Argonauts with a complete-game effort while adding a triple and four RBI in a 9-1 victory that advanced Trevecca to Championship Saturday.
Offensively during the postseason, Goad added a home run, triple, and six RBI while playing error-free defense during the tournament.
