Trevecca Golf | Construction on On-Campus Golf Facility is Underway

NASHVILLE — The Trevecca Nazarene University's men's and women's golf teams now get to watch a new multipurpose on-campus facility grow from the ground right before their eyes. Construction on the facility started Monday, January 31, 2022. Once completed, the facility will assist in the athletic development of current players and be an asset used to attract golf's best future recruits, according to Trevecca Director of Golf, David Head.

The 75' x 30' structure (2,250-square-foot) is now under construction at the head of the newly added turf field along Nance Lane (36.14009460518916, -86.75003180506687). The new facility is located where the team's current on-campus outdoor golf practice facility is located. The new structure provides storage space for necessary golf practice equipment.

"Our student-athletes are looking forward to getting in more practice closer to home, and we're excited about the long-term advantages the new facility brings as we continue to improve and pursue championships," Trevecca Head Golf Coach David Head said. "We are thankful to all our donors and administrators who worked together to make this addition a reality."

Once completed, later in the spring of 2022, the team will have the ability to work on their game year-round on campus.

"The vision for the facility is not singular; it is also to reach out to youth in the area to teach them golf as a ministry," Head said, "A part of the dream is to use this facility to pass on the sport we love to the next generations, and that includes introducing the game to those who might not otherwise get a chance to learn about this wonderful game."

Last spring, the men's golf team at Trevecca won its seventh Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional for the second straight year. They also scored par or better in 11 rounds on the season, a program-best.
