DICKSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team opened play at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships in sixth place after Monday's first round at Greystone Golf Club.

The three-round championship features nine teams and 46 golfers competing in stroke play on the par 72, 6,858-yard course in Dickson.
West Florida holds the team lead after firing a 4-under 284. Mississippi College sits second at 3-under 285, followed by Lee at 1-under 287. Valdosta State (+2, 290) and Union (+3, 291) round out the top five after 18 holes.
Trevecca posted a 297 in the opening round and will look to make a move over the final two rounds.
TEAM NOTES
Trevecca is sixth at 297 through one round.
Wilson Borders led the Trojans with a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for 14th individually.
Weston Lowry and Alex Hamm each carded 2-over-par 74 and are tied for 21st.
Maddox Burton posted a 3-over-par 75 and is tied for 30th.
Lucas Barrett rounded out the lineup with an 84 and is tied for 40th.
As a team, Trevecca ranked fourth in the field on par four scoring with a 4.08 average and was second overall with 58 pars.
Borders finished second in the field on par four scoring at 2-under-par with a 3.80 average. Hamm was 1-under-par on par five holes with a 4.75 average.
Burton and Hamm each recorded 13 pars, tying for sixth in the field.
Trevecca totaled eight birdies in the opening round, led by Borders with three. Hamm and Lowry each added two birdies, while Burton contributed one.
Individually, Mississippi College's Joao Iglesias leads the field at 6-under-par 66. Union's Trace Robinson is second at 3-under 69, with two eagles in his round.
