DICKSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships at Greystone Golf Club. The Trojans posted a three-round total of 872 (297-286-289) to share the position with Valdosta State in the nine-team field.
The three-day event was played on the par 72, 6,858-yard course and featured 46 golfers competing in stroke play.
Weston Lowry led Trevecca, finishing tied for 15th at 1-over-par 217. He closed with a 1-under-par 71 in the final round after an even-par 72 in round two, one of four under-par rounds recorded by the Trojans during the championship.
Maddox Burton followed in a tie for 17th at 3-over-par 219. He delivered one of the team's top rounds with a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. Alex Hamm finished 19th at 4-over-par 220 and added an under-par effort with a 1-under 71 in the final round.
Wilson Borders, who led the Trojans through the first two rounds, finished tied for 25th at 8-over-par 224. He opened with a 73 and added a 2-under-par 70 in round two.
TEAM NOTES?Trevecca recorded 34 birdies for the tournament, sixth most in the field, and led all teams with 180 pars.
The Trojans ranked among the top teams in consistency metrics, finishing with the fourth-lowest par four scoring average at 4.07. Borders was eighth individually on par four scoring at 3.99, finishing 2-under-par on those holes.
On par five scoring, four Trojans finished under par. Hamm and Lowry each posted 3-under-par marks, while Laird Williams was 2-under and Burton finished 1-under.
Hamm led Trevecca and ranked third in the field with 39 pars. Burton added 38 pars, tied for fifth, while Lowry recorded 37, tied for ninth.
Lowry paced the Trojans with eight birdies. Hamm, Borders, and Burton each added seven, Lucas Barrett recorded three, and Williams contributed two.
Trevecca's second-round 286, the team's low round of the tournament, moved the Trojans into contention entering the final day, and the group maintained its position to secure a top-five finish.
West Florida captured the team title, while Lee's Drew Zielinski earned medalist honors.
