Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (14-6, 6-0 Great Midwest) swept Ohio Valley University (0-8, 0-4 Great Midwest), continuing their 13-game winning streak and remaining undefeated in conference play, on Saturday. The games represent the fourth and fifth shutouts of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
Trevecca scored first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and added six in the second inning. Carly Sperlich hit a SAC fly to open the scoring in the bottom of the first, driving in MaKray Odom. Megan Groves later singled to score Lenna Robinson.
In the six-run second, Kelsey Seitz hit a solo home run to lead off the inning. MaKray Odom stole third and scored on an OVU error. After Lenna Robinson walked, Carly Sperlich drove one over the right-field fence for a two-run home run. Megan Groves double later, driving in Brooke Eakes. Abbie Page reached on an error, an error that allowed Megan Groves to cross the plate.
GAME 2
Trevecca scored all their runs in two innings again, in-game two the team plated four in the second and six in the fourth. Megan Groves opened the scoring with her solo home run in the bottom of the second. MaKray Odom drew a bases-loaded walk later, to score Malone Thrift.
In the six-run fourth, Carly Sperlich doubled off the left-field fence, driving in MaKray Odom and Megan Walker. Malone Thrift followed with a double two batters later, also driving in two runs. Catie McLachlan doubled to drive in another run.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
GAME 1
Kelsey Seitz hit a solo home run and Carly Sperlich hit a two-run bomb. Sperlich drove in three of the Trojan's eighth runs. Megan Groves went 2-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI. Makray Odom went 2-3 with two runs scored and three stolen bases. Raygn Hall (7-4) allowed one hit in her five innings of work.
GAME 2
Four Trojans added a double – Carly Sperlich, Catie McLachlan, Brooke Eakes, Malone Thrift. Megan Groves hit the third home run of the day. MaKray Odom grabbed her fourth stolen base of the day. Malone Thrift went 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI. Alex Behnke (6-1) started and pitched four innings of two-hit ball for the win.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans are in Owensboro, Ky. Tuesday for more Great Midwest action with the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College (7-12, 3-3 Great Midwest). The doubleheader first pitch is scheduled for 2 PM.
The schedule takes Trevecca to Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday, April 10 for a pair of games with the Tiffin University Dragons (8-12, 3-5 Great Midwest).
The road leads home again on April 16 and 17 when the University of Findlay (12-13, 3-5 Great Midwest) and Hillsdale College (16-10, 4-0 Great Midwest) play the Trojans on the Hill.
The rest of the regular season slate includes home games with Cedarville University (14-10, 3-3 Great Midwest / April 23) and Ohio Dominican University (15-8, 4-1 Great Midwest / April 24), before closing the season on the road at Lake Erie College (5-18, 0-3 Great Midwest / April 30) and Ursuline College (1-11, 1-3 Great Midwest / May 1).
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships are set for May 6-8.
