Box Score NASHVILLE– The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (3-8, 2-7 Great Midwest) wrapped up its regular season on Thursday, falling to the No. 13 Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots (7-0, 7-0 Great Midwest) 3-0.
The loss secured the regular season Great Midwest Championship for Ohio Valley.

THE SERIES
It was the fifteenth all-time matchup between the Trojans and Scots, and Ohio Valley now holds a 6-8-1 advantage.
THE MATCH
Ohio Valley dominated the possession early and found the opening goal in the 13th minute when Luiz Neto's assist intended for Juan Hoyos in the box ended up at the feet of Vicente Forment, and he finished it for the 1-0 lead.
Trevecca was able to find some threatening moments for the remainder of the half, including a stinging shot by Cillian Farmer that was saved by OVU goalkeeper Santiago Rojas, but it remained a 1-0 deficit at halftime. In the 56th minute, a tackle by Shane O'Connell brought down Benjamin Constantini and the Fighting Scots were awarded a penalty kick. Freshman goalkeeper Isaac Layman came up with a huge save, denying Juan Hoyos from the spot to prevent the 1-0 lead from growing.
The lead was eventually doubled, however, when Constantini pushed a finish past Layman in the 73rd minute. Ohio Valley continued to control the pace of the match, and found the dagger with a goal by Hoyos to make it 3-0 in the 84th minute.

Vicente Forment, Benjamin Constantini, and Juan Hoyos were the goalscorers for the Fighting Scots.
Trevecca goalie Isaac Layman came up with five saves, and Shane O'Connell and Michael Martey each picked up a yellow card.

Trevecca's regular season is over, and the Trojans will not qualify for the Great Midwest Tournament.
