Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. — With everything on the line, the Trevecca Nazarene men's soccer team (6-7-3, 3-6-2 GSC) punched its ticket to the Gulf South Conference postseason in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Union (3-7-6, 2-6-3 GSC) on Sunday at home.

With the tie, another chapter in this historic series between Trevecca and Union, the Bulldogs still hold the advantage over Trevecca with a 13-5-2 record in favor of UU.
THE MATCH
Union struck first in the 24th minute, putting Trevecca behind early in front of its home crowd. But the Trojans roared back in the second half with a stunning surge—
Daniel Shiel scored the equalizer in the 47th minute off a
Tom Hooper corner kick, and less than ten minutes later,
Jack Franklin found an open goal on the rebound after
Daniel Shiel's shot was rejected to give Trevecca the lead
With the Trojans up 2-1 and closing in on qualification, Union responded in the 84th minute with a free kick goal from Noel Pataki, tying the match and setting up a tense final stretch.
Despite some very dramatic final minutes, the Trojans managed to hold on for the crucial point needed to qualify for the playoffs.

Trevecca advances to the GSC Quarterfinals and will face top-seeded Mississippi College (11-1-4, 9-0-2 GSC) next Sunday at 1 p.m. in Clinton, Mississippi. The two teams met just over a week ago, with MC coming out on top 4-1.
