Trevecca Men’s Soccer | Trojans Walker and Hooper Combine to Earn Trio of Gulf South Conference Weekly Honors

NASHVILLE – Two members of the Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team have been recognized by the Gulf South Conference with weekly honors for their outstanding performances during the week ending Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Freshman Hunter Walker earned both GSC Goalkeeper of the Week and GSC Freshman of the Week, while senior Tom Hooper was named GSC Player of the Week.

The duo played pivotal roles in Trevecca's remarkable late-season push to the postseason. The Trojans recorded three shutouts over their final five matches, posting a 3-1-2 record during that stretch to secure the program's second consecutive GSC Tournament berth.

This past week, Trevecca went 1-0-1, highlighted by a decisive 4-0 victory over Christian Brothers and a 2-2 draw against Union, results that lifted the Trojans into the No. 8 spot in the GSC standings—clinching a playoff position by a single point.

A senior midfielder from London, England, Hooper tallied five points on the week. The Epsom & Ewell product netted two goals on two shots in the 4-0 win over Christian Brothers and followed with an assist and two shots on goal in the 2-2 tie with Union. The Blinn College (Texas) transfer has been a steady in the midfield throughout the season and during the Trojans' playoff push.

Walker, a freshman from Franklin, Tenn., continued his standout debut season by setting a new Trevecca single-season record with five shutouts, accomplishing the mark against Christian Brothers—one of only three times the Bucs were blanked to that point in the season.

The Christ Presbyterian Academy alum recorded six saves on 14 shots in the win over CBU and followed with five saves on 17 shots in the draw with Union. Walker anchored the Trojans' defense during their postseason-clinching run.
The Trevecca men's soccer turns its focus to the 2025 GSC Tournament, aiming to continue its late-season momentum and extend its stay among the league's best. The Trojans face Mississippi College in the Gulf South First Round on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 PM. Get links to follow at tnutrojans.com.
