HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1 SW Minn. St:
Trevecca faced an early deficit when the Mustangs received a home run from Bailey Johnson in the bottom of the first. A sac bunt in the second then gave SW. Minn. St a 2-0 run. The Trojans remained scoreless for the first four innings before taking the lead in the fifth. MaKray Odom doubled in Emilee Bundy (leadoff double) to cut the deficit in half. Then a Megan Groves double brought in both Odom and Lenna Robinson. The Trojans held a 4-2 lead after five and a half innings when Groves drew a walk which allowed Bundy to score from third. However, the home half of the sixth was not as friendly. The Mustangs collected their final six runs to take an 8-4 lead into the seventh. The Trojans saw a base runner
GAME 2 Stonehill:
The Trojans offenses responded to the challenge the Skyhawks offered in game two. The first five Trojans reached base in the bottom of the first in which four runs scored. MaKray Odom, Lenna Robinson, and Carly Sperlich all singled in the frame while Megan Groves (HBP) and Haley Richardson (error) also reached base. After surrendering a run in the top of the third, the Trojans opened the game up in the home half of the third. The Trojans plated six runs off four hits which included three RBIs and two extra-base hits. In their last chance in the fifth, the Mustangs earned one run back but fell short as the Trojans won the run-ruled game and shortened their second contest of the Spring Games.
