LAKELAND, Fla. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team climbed into 13th after shooting a tournament-best 300 on the final day of the Florida Southern hosted Matlock Invitational.

The Matlock Invitational was played at the local Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland. The course played to a par of 72 over 7065 yards. There were 15 teams and 81 golfers competing.
TROJANS ON THE LEADERBOARD
TREVECCA PLAYER NOTES
- Blain Turner carded his second consecutive round of 73 by providing a team most four birdies and nine pars. Turner finished the two-day tournament with the sixth-best par three scoring average with a three-over of 3.25. Turner moved up eight spots on the leaderboard into 28th place.
- Ryan Rozic matched Turner's card of 73 by shooting three birdies on the front nine to finish two under. Rozic carded a three-over on the back nine to finish at 73 for the day, his tournament best. Rozic finished with the eighth-best par four scoring average with a three-over 4.10. By recording 11 pars, Rozic slid nine spots up from 51 to 42 for the tournament.
- Solomon Zarling moved five spots up the leaderboard with his four-over round of 76. After struggling a little on the front nine, the sophomore turned in a one-under on the back nine which included two birdies. Zarling produced 10 pars in this round.
- Ryan Demit was the lone Trojan to drop on the leaderboard by producing a 10 over 82. Demit fell from 69th to 73rd after carding just a single birdie and eight pars.
- Conner Conkel moved two spots up the leaderboard by shooting a tournament-best six over 78. Conkel shaved seven strokes off his round two score by collecting 11 pars and a birdie on 10.
THE FIELD: TEAMS
Winning the tournament was Columbus State who was the only participating team to shoot a negative score dropping nine strokes for a total of 289-289-280=858. Florida Tech traded spots with Florida Southern for second by producing a 297-290-288=875. Florida Southern finished in third with a 301-285-291=877.
THE FIELD: INDIVIDUALS
Florida Tech's Max O'Hagan carded his third consecutive round in the 60's with a 67 (69-66-67=202) to earn the medalist honors. O'Hagan was 14 under for the tournament, winning by nine strokes over Jordan Doull of Columbus State.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans hit the practice course for over a month until showing up at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. The SVSU Spring Invite is being hosted at the Kearney Hills Golf Club in Lexington on March 14 and 15.
