NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer (1-3-0, 0-1 Great Midwest) 3-1 to Tiffin University (4-0-2, 2-0-1 Great Midwest) at the Trevecca Soccer Complex on Saturday. It was the first conference match of the year for the Trojans.

THE SERIES

The Dragons lead the all-time series 2-0 with the teams set for a rematch on October 3rd.

THE MATCH

The Trojans scored the first goal of the yearon the Dragons when Michael Jones (JR/Freetown, Sierra Leone) touched the ball past Tiffin keeper Dylan Morris in the sixth minute. Bryce-Austin Wahy (JR/Melbourne, Fla) picked up the assist after feeding Jones nearly in the mouth of the goal. Tiffin had shutout their first five opponents with two of those results going double overtime. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough asthe Dragons scored three unanswered for the win. The equalizer came just 90 seconds later when Darren Appanah scored on a Joel Daly assist. The game-winner turned out to be the first of two by Leo Hasenstab, came less than a minute into the second half. Hasenstab scored another in the 77th minute.

Michael Jones scored his second goal of the year.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

The Trojans will look for their first conference win when Cedarville visits the Hill on Thursday.

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca welcomes Cedarville University (2-1-2, 0-1-1 Great Midwest) on Thursday at 4:30 PM. The Yellow Jackets own the all-time series 11-1-2. The Yellow Jackets are winners in the last two meetings, but the Trojans picked up their first win in the series on September 17, 2017, a 2-1 decision at the Trevecca Soccer Pitch.

Ohio Dominican (1-3-1, 0-1-1 Great Midwest) visits Saturday, September 28 at Noon. The series is tied 2-2. Trevecca defeated the Panthers in their last meeting and took the first-ever meeting in 2017.
