NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (2-8-1, 1-6-1 Great Midwest) fell, 3-1, to the Malone University Pioneers (3-5-2, 1-6-1 Great Midwest) on Thursday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex.

THE SERIES

The Pioneers claimed their first victory in the series after five tries. Trevecca and Malone began competition when the Pioneers joined the G-MAC prior to the 2016 season. The Trojans outscored the Pioneers 13-4 in the first four victories.

THE MATCH

The Trojans collected the matches first couple of shots before Nathan McFeaters of Malone scored the first of his two goals at 17:14 in the first half … McFeaters first goal was assisted by Evan Dekker … the result would hold until the halftime whistle … the Trojans swapped goalkeepers at halftime, Andy Bargh started the match who gave way to Will Thompson (FR/Colorado Springs, CO) for the final 45 minutes … McFeaters wasted little time in the second half connecting for his second goal at 50:51 off a pass from Gino Finelli … Finelli later gave the Pioneers a three-goal advantage when he scored an unassisted goal at 75:01 … Bryce-Austin Wahy (JR/Melbourne, Fla) helped the Trojans avoid the shutout by connecting off a header with less than 10 seconds to play … the goal is Wahy's second of the season.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

The Trojans fall to the bottom of the G-MAC table by losing their third consecutive conference contest.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The Trojans play their final home match of the season on Saturday against Walsh (7-3-2, 3-3-2 Great Midwest) at 4:30 PM. Lone senior Reed Coffman (SR/Hendersonville, TN) will be honored prior to the match.

The Cavaliers arrive in Nashville to give one of the two teams an edge in the series which is currently even at 1-1.
