Box Score 2 In the first of ten games on the road, the Trevecca softball team (30-14, 14-2 G-MAC) grabbed a pair of wins at Ohio Valley University (8-29, 5-11 G-MAC). The Trojans took game one in six innings, 8-0, and won game two, 9-7. The games were delayed to later in the evening than previously scheduled because of weather and field conditions. A second double header will start at 11:30 AM on Saturday.

After the series at Ohio Valley, the Trojans will head to Kentucky Wesleyan (14-18, 9-3 G-MAC) to play the second double header of that series. The teams split the first double header at TNU on April 5. KWC took game one 3-2 then TNU came back to take game two 9-1 in five innings. These will be important conference games for Trevecca to maintain the top seat in the standings and hold Kentucky Wesleyan at second.ÂÂ

GAME ONE
TNU plated five runs in the third inning and added the final three in the sixth to cut the game short. Jordan Griner (SR/Mulberry, Tenn.) and Kat Burbrink (SO/Hamilton, Ohio) both connected for three RBI home runs, in the each of the scoring innings respectively.ÂÂ

Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.) (21-10) pitched the first five innings, including a perfect third inning. She had six strikeouts and only let one hit while walking one of 15 batters faced. Sammie Jo Ivy (SO/Enville, Tenn. ) pitched the final inning to share the shut out.

Kat Burbrink was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Mary Collins (FR/Collierville, TN) was 2-for-3, both doubles, with two runs.ÂÂ

TNU only left one runner on base while the only Fighting Scot to reach base was also left stranded.

GAME TWO
TNU plated the first three runs of the game in the first inning but OVU answered with two in their half. The Trojans combined for five through the fifth and Ohio Valley added two in the bottom of the fifth then their final three in the bottom of the seventh.

Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.) reached on a clutch play to lead off the game by reaching first on a drop third strike. She went on to steal second, one of four stolen bases on the day and made her way home on a pair of Ohio Valley errors. Two more Trojans scored on a 2-out Jordan Griner single for a 3-0 lead in the first.

Griner added two more RBI with a homer in the third to drive in Collins who walked prior.

Tana Whited (FR/Lebanon, TN) hit a home run in the fourth to drive in Brantley who walked and stole second prior. After four complete, TNU led 8-2.

Brantley added a solo homer in the fifth to top it off for Trevecca.

Haley Fagan (22-10) started and took the decision with three strikeouts in three innings of work. She let two runs on three hits while without any walks. Morgan Powell (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) pitched 3.2 innings with two strikeouts and no walks. She let five runs on six hits. Sammie Jo Ivy pitched the final out for TNU.
