Box Score 2 VIENNA, W.Va. - The Trevecca Nazarene University Softball team (16-5, 8-0 G-MAC) defeated Ohio Valley University (4-25, 0-8 G-MAC) by the score of 5-1 (8 innings) and 12-4 at Jackson Park Field. The Trojans have won six in a row and are 12-1 over their last 13 games.ÂÂ

Trevecca and OVU will play a pair of games on Thursday, but only the first of the two will count in the G-MAC standings.

GAME ONE
The Scots took a 1-0 lead with a run in the third and lead all the way until the top of the sixth when the Trojans plated a run for a 1-1 tie. The game went to extra innings when the Trojans scored four in the top of the eighth and held the Scots in the bottom of the inning for a 5-1 win.

Haley Fagan (JR/Cornersville, Tenn.) (8-2) pitched the complete game with eight innings of work and allowed three hits and one unearned run with four walks and five strikeouts.

Kelsey Kemp (SR/Lawrenceburg, Tenn.) (2-4) and Mackenzie Leding (SR/Springfield, Tenn.) (2-3) each had multi-hit games. Ansley Brantley (JR/Kite, Ga.) hit her seventh home run of the year, a two-run blast in the eighth for what was essentially the game winner. Kemp had a stolen base and scored a run. Leding drove in a run and scored one as well. Brantley also scored a run.

In the eighth, Danielle Tyson (FR/Smithville, Tenn.) reached on a error and then scored on the Brantley home run. Bailey Alexander (FR/Glasgow, Ky.) followed with a single. With one out, Leding reached on a hit-by-pitch. Lindsey Stephens (SR/Somerset, Ky.) moved the runners up on a ground out. Burbrink reached on an error, scoring Leding and Alexander.ÂÂ

In the sixth Trevecca scored a run when Kemp hit a two-out single and stole second. Leding singled to drive in the game-tying run.

GAME TWO
Trevecca didn't waste any time in game two, scoring four in the first inning, but the Scots scored one in the bottom of the first and two in the second, cutting the Trojan lead to just one, 4-3, after two. Trevecca answered with two in the third and two in the fourth for a 8-3 lead. OVU plated a run in the fifth. The Trojans added four more in the sixth to seal the win, 12-4.

Lindsey Stephens (5-3) pitched in the circle for Trevecca. Stephens pitched five innings and allowed three hits and four runs - two earned, with three walks and six strikeouts. Sammie Jo Ivy (FR/Enville, Tenn. ) pitched a perfect sixth for Trevecca.

In the first, Trevecca's Bailey Alexander reached on a one-out walk and moved to third on Kelsey Kemp's single, Kemp advanced to second on the throw. Mackenzie Leding followed with a two-run single, scoring both runners. Lindsey Stephens followed with a two-run home run for a 4-0 Trojans lead.

In the third, Shelby Andrews (JR/Dyersburg, Tenn.) singled with one out and scored a batter later when Alex Richardson (SO/Ten Mile, Tenn.) hit a two-out two-run home run.ÂÂ

In the fourth, Leding doubled with two out and scored when Stephens hit her second home run of the game.

In the sixth, Alexander led off with a single and moved to second on a bunt single by Tyson. An out later Stephens delivered again with a single that loaded the bases. Kayla Richards (SO/Cedar Hill, Tenn. ) singled and drove in all three base runners, ending up at third on the throw. Alex Richardson doubled and scored Richards.

Alexander (2-3), Leding (2-4), Stephens (3-4), and Richardson (3-4) all had multi-hit games. Stephens had four RBI and scored three times and now has three home runs on the year, all coming in her last three games. Richardson had three RBI. Trevecca had seven extra base hits among their 16 in the game.
