Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – The Trevecca men's soccer team (5-4, 2-2 G-MAC) secured a big win over first place Davis & Elkins College (5-4-1, 3-1 G-MAC) giving the Senators, the winners of their previous five matches in a row, their first conference loss of the year.
Just before half, Dan Savory scored the first goal of the match in the 40th minute on a corner kick with an assist from James Pucci.
Early in the second period Baylor McKay evened the match on a goal in the 48th minute with an assist from Jeremiah Wright.
The score remained tied until Wright scored with an assist from Holland Clement in the 85th minute and the Trojans made the 2-1 score hold up over the final five minutes.
Braydon Brown had a save in goal for the Trojans and picked up the win. Cameron Rivera collected five saves for Davis & Elkins.
Trevecca coach Danny Leavy said, "The guys did an incredible job of staying focused on our game plan and were rewarded with a positive result."
McKay scored his first goal of the season while Wright chipped in his fourth goal and delievered his third assist. Wright now has a team high 11 points on the season. The assist was Clement's first of the year. Brown is now 3-3-1 in goal on the year.
TNU held a 12-7 advantage in shots, including placing seven shots on goal to just two for the Senators. Trevecca is 3-1 in their last four matches.
Trevecca next plays host to Gulf South Conference opponent Shorter University (5-2-2) Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
