Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca men's soccer team (2-0) won their second match at the Muskingum Invitational with a 4-2 win over Ohio Valley University (0-2). Jonathan Baskin added his fifth goal of the weekend.
Trevecca's Matthew Esquivel started the scoring at 27:23 with an assist from Connor Inman. Ryan Walls put the Trojans up 2-0 with a goal at 34:22. Matt Raines assisted on the score.
In the second period OVU evened the score at 2-2 with a pair of goals early in the half. At 56:01 Samuel Asimeng scored on a Omokheafe Esivue assist. Esivue assisted less than 10 minutes later when Jackie Flynn scored at 63:42. Jonathan Baskin picked up his fifth goal in two days at 71:00 on another Inman assist. The goal would prove to the game winner. Javier Delgado scored an unassisted goal at 79:52.
Trevecca had 22 shots with nine of those on goal. Ohio Valley had seven shots with four of those on goal. Braydon Brown (2-0) had two saves for the Trojans in goal.
Trevecca outscored its first two opponents 12-2 over the weekend. Baskin has 10 points and Connor Inman has four total assists. Baskin's five goals are one more than he has scored in his first two years (30 games) at Trevecca. Inman's four assists are double what he produced last year as a freshman. Â
Trevecca will host Cumberland University (0-1) at 7 PM on Tuesday (9/4) at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
