Trevecca Men Fall in Mid-East Region Semifinals

Box Score OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Trevecca men's soccer team (9-9-1) lost 3-0 Friday afternoon to the host Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University (10-5-1) in the semifinals of the NCCAA Mid-East Regional. The loss ends the season for the Trojans, while the Oaks advance to Saturday's championship match.

After a scoreless first half, Oakland City jumped on top in the 52', when Nico Bercke scored his fifth goal of the season, heading in a free kick from Chris Brind to make it 1-0 Oaks. Just under seven minutes later, Gercke scored again, this time off a header of a corner kick from Pablo Graells at 58:33 to make it 2-0. At 77:09, Jon Stroup netted the final tally, scoring from 12 yards out off assists from Nathan Andijanto and Adam Sell.

Oakland City outshot Trevecca 17-7 overall for the match. Trojan keeper Hayden Coffman allowed all three Oaks goals, but also made six saves on the afternoon. Oaks keeper Matt Ball made saves on all three shots on goal that he faced.
