NASHVILLE – The Spring 2026 Gulf South Conference Academic Awards included two Trevecca Nazarene University student-athletes on the GSC Spring All-Academic Team and 104 Trojans on the GSC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Maddox Burton of Trevecca men's golf and Cade Martin of Trevecca baseball were selected to the 2026 GSC Spring All-Academic Team through a vote of the conference's faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors.
The 104 honor roll selections represented each of Trevecca's spring championship programs. Baseball led the way with 28 selections. Women's track and field and softball followed with 20 each, while men's track and field added 18. Men's golf and women's golf each placed nine on the honor roll.
The GSC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.00 grade-point average on a 4.00 scale at the time of the conference announcement and who competed against outside competition during the season.
To be named to the GSC All-Academic Team, nominees must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20, be a significant contributor to their team, and be considered through leadership, community service, and extracurricular involvement. Institutions are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
Trevecca continued to perform among NCAA Division II's top academic athletic departments in the NCAA Academic Success Rate report released in November 2025. The Trojans posted a 94 percent ASR, ranking No. 10 among 311 Division II institutions. Trevecca also earned the NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence for the seventh consecutive year and eighth time overall. The honor is presented to Division II schools with an ASR of 90 percent or higher.
