NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team wrapped up the non-conference portion of their 2026 schedule on Tuesday, and under the bright Middle Tennessee sunshine, the Trojans' offense continued to roll and Trevecca got back in the win column.
Trevecca (29-17) banged out 15 hits and turned those into 10 runs, as the Trojans outlasted the Lane College Dragons (14-28) 10-7.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Trojans and Dragons have now met three times in their history, with all three meetings taking place at Jackson Field in Nashville. The Trojans have scored 10 runs in all three meetings, and they are now 3-0 against Lane all-time.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca got on the board with single runs in the second and third innings. Cade Martin picked up a sacrifice fly in the second to score Miles Nelson, and in the third, it was Caleb Webster who launched a home run to double the Trevecca lead.
An RBI double from Gabriel Garza got the Dragons on the board in the fourth, and after a leadoff triple from Trey Babbitt in the fifth, a wild pitch leveled the score at 2-2.
Trevecca shortstop Landon Rogers roped a triple to left-center in the bottom of the fifth, and he scored on a sac fly from Webster to give the Trojans the lead back, but in the sixth, the Dragons answered with three runs to take a 5-3 lead - aided by two walks, a hit batsman, and an error.
Luke Dymond led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo blast, and Elijah Cross followed with a triple - Trevecca's third three-base hit of the contest. Cross then trotted home on a balk, and the game was level at 5-5. The tie persisted into the bottom of the seventh inning, when Rylan Moses doubled home Nelson and Webster, and Martin followed with a two-bagger of his own, and the Trojans took an 8-5 lead.
In the bottom of the eighth, Webster picked up his third RBI of the day with a single to left that scored Noah Boughton, who had led off the inning by drawing a walk. Nelson followed with another sacrifice fly that plated Bradley and stretched the Trevecca lead to 10-5.
Lane got a lead off walk from Edrick Rivera Mendez in the ninth, and Anthony Brooks followed with a two-run homer to left, but Jackson Marbet recovered to get the next three men in order to preserve the 10-7 win.
