BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Four program records fell for the Trevecca Nazarene University men's and women's track and field teams at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships on Thursday. The Trojans joined six other GSC schools at the Birmingham CrossPlex for the Championships, and after day one of competition, the Trojans are fifth in the women's standings with 11.5 points, and they are seventh on the men's side with 2 points. The Trojans also saw nine personal best marks fall for Trevecca athletes.

Three Trojan performances highlighted day one of the meet on the women's side. In the 5,000-meter run, Hadar Biger posted the Trojans' best finish of the day, where she placed fourth in a time of 17:54.22. The time was a new personal record for Biger, and it earned the Trojans five points in the standings for the meet.
Two Trevecca women followed that up with school record performances as well. Shaniya Hudson posted a TNU record time of 8.10 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, and Margaret Chauncy cleared a TNU-record 3.05 meters in the pole vault. Chauncy's mark tied for 5th in the event for the meet, which was good for 3.5 points to the team total. The women's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team collected the Trojans final three points in women's action for the day.
On the men's side, two program records fell as well. Jadon Hickman posted a new program best time in the 60-meter hurdles, completing his preliminary heat in 8.84 seconds. The men also set a new program record in the DMR, where their time of 10:26.15 scored the Trojans their two points in the standings as well.
The meet will conclude with more action on Friday.
