Trevecca Track and Field | Trojans Final Regular Season Meet Sets Tone for 2026 Gulf South Championships

NASHVILLE - A busy, yet highly successful weekend for the Trevecca Nazarene University men's and women's track and field teams came to a close on Saturday, and two more program records fell in the process.

Shaniya Hudson set her second program record in as many days at the UAH Rocket City Invitational, and later on Saturday, Hadar Biger set another program record on the west coast at the Azusa Pacific University Bryan Clay Invitational. In addition to the two program records that were set, 13 individual personal record marks were also recorded.

Hudson - who set the program mark in the 100-meter dash on Friday - added the program record in the 200-meters on Saturday where she crossed the line in 26.58 seconds. She knocked more than two tenths of a second off the previous mark, which had belonged to Loren Bennett from the 2015 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship Final.

Biger continued her outstanding freshman campaign to cap the weekend late on Saturday evening out west. She chopped nearly two-and-a-half seconds off of Caroline Hampton's record time, which had been set at Austin Peay in 2016. Biger finished the race in 4:42.77.

Aside from the two program record setters, four Trevecca women, and eight Trevecca men set new personal bests. On the women's side, Payton Valentine (2:41.47) and Madison Sallows (2:43.78) each posted career bests in the 800-meter run, Brooklyn Rader launched the discus 27.74 meters, and Skylar Kirby threw the Javelin a personal best 15.18 meters.

In men's action, four runners set personal records in the 200-meter dash. Leighton Varden (22.12), Andrew Ewing (22.99), Logan Hamilton (23.34), and Juan Catalan (23.36) each finished the 200 in new best individual times, while the other four PRs came in field events. Landon Mason threw the discus 39.77 meters, Braylen Hendrix-Collins cleared 1.76 meters in the high jump, and Elijah Nicholson (42.74m) and Brennen Mortensen (41.13m) each put up personal best tosses of the javelin.

Trevecca will be back in action next in the Gulf South Conference Championships. The meet will take place in Montevallo, Alabama spread across three days, beginning on Wednesday, April 29. Schedules and times will be available in the days leading up to the meet, once the entry lists are finalized.
