WESTVIEW, Ind. – The Trevecca Nazarene University STUNT team (8-2, 2-0 GLVC), ranked No. 9 in the College STUNT Preseason Poll, played their first games in their new conference, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) on Saturday. The Trojans came away with two Great Lakes Valley Conference in the GLVC STUNT Invitational hosted by Purdue Northwest.
First the Trojans defeated preseason GLVC No. 4 Ferris State (3-1, 1-1 GLVC) before defeating preseason No. 4 Purdue Northwest (2-4, 0-2 GLVC).
GM 1: GLVC Preseason No. 4 Ferris State 15, College STUNT No. 9 Trevecca 26
Trevecca outscored Ferris State 5-2 in the first quarter and 2-1 in the second for a 7-3 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Trevecca added to its lead with a 6-4 advantage. They headed into the fourth leading 13-7. TNU outscored the Bulldogs 13-8 to seal the win.
Trojans take the first meeting all-time with the Bulldogs.
GM 2: GLVC Preseason No. 3 Purdue Northwest 16, College Stunt No. 9 Trevecca 27
The Trojans outscored the Pride 5-2 and 6-2 in the first two quarters for a 11-4 halftime lead. The teams played even in the third, 4-4. Trevecca added four to their lead in the final quarter with a 12-8 advantage to secure the win.
Trevecca is 2-0 all-time against the Purdue Northwest Pride.
