2026 PREVIEW
The curtain will rise on the 2026 Trevecca baseball season in only 16 days, as the Trojans are scheduled for their earliest Opening Day in more than two decades. Trevecca is scheduled to play their first January baseball since the 2004 season, as they will open the schedule with a 3-game weekend series at Georgia Southwestern State from January 30-February 1 in Americus, Georgia.

The first game at Jackson Field comes February 3 when Lane College comes to Nashville. The Dragons are slated to be the Trojans' first home opponent of the season for the second straight season.

COACH SAIN
Chase Sain is back for his sixth season as head coach of the Trojans. He and the Trojans will look to improve on a 2025 campaign that saw the Trojans finish sixth in their first season in the Gulf South Conference.

SCHEDULE
After the season opening series at Georgia Southwestern State, the Trojans return home for a seven game home stand that includes the first GSC series of the year - a 3-game set on Valentine's Day Weekend against Auburn University Montgomery.

The Trojans will sprinkle in February mid-week games against in-state foes from Tusculum and Lincoln Memorial on the road, they will host the Valdosta State Blazers, and the month will conclude with a trip to the University of Montevallo.

The Trojans will open March with a home midweek tilt with Carson-Newman, before they welcome the preseason favorite Argonauts from West Florida to Jackson Field. Following the set with the Argonauts, the Trojans will hit the road for six straight - two at North Greenville in Tigerville, South Carolina, three at Union University in GSC play, and a neutral site battle with the Harding University Bison at USA Stadium in Millington, Tennessee. The Trojans then return home for games against Tusculum and Mississippi College before they wrap the month on the road at Christian Brothers in Memphis, and a single game against Lincoln Memorial at home.

Of the 14 games on the slate in April, only two are non-conference battles - one at Carson-Newman on April 7, and another game against Lane in Nashville on April 21. The rest of the month will be spent in GSC play. The Trojans will take trips to West Alabama (April 3-4) and Alabama Huntsville (April 17-18), while they will host Delta State (April 10-11) and Lee (April 24-25).

The Gulf South Conference Championship will again take place in Oxford, Alabama at Choccolocco Park, beginning on May 1. The tournament will take place from May 1-5 with the winning team earning the GSC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

2025 SEASON RECAP
Trevecca stumbled out of the gate in 2025, as they dropped four of their six games in the pre-conference schedule. In their two wins, though, Trevecca's offense exploded for a total of 32 runs in only 15 offensive innings.

After Trevecca dropped their GSC opener to fall to 2-5 on the season, Trevecca bounced back with consecutive wins at Auburn Montgomery to take the series win in their first ever GSC set, but the following weekend, the Trojans dropped all three at Valdosta State.

The Trojans dropped an eight-inning decision at Lincoln Memorial, but they followed that by taking two of three games in a weekend series with Montavello at Jackson Field to pull back to within a game of the break even point in GSC play.

As the season continued, Trevecca played well at home, but they struggled on the road, particularly in GSC play. The first weekend set of March in the GSC, a series at West Florida, resulted in a sweep of the Trojans, but they bounced back the next weekend to take two of three from Union. The Trojans dropped two games to the top-ranked North Greenville Trailblazers in a non-conference twinbill, and then they fell to Mississippi College in three straight away from home to drop to 8-18, and 6-11 in the GSC, but as March drew to a close, the Trojans began to find their rhythm.

Trevecca got things started with a 7-3 win over then No. 16 Carson-Newman, and they followed that with a weekend sweep of Christian Brothers. The Trojans outscored the Buccaneers 28-8 in the three games, and they belted five homers on the weekend. The momentum carried into the month of April as the Trojans started the month by avenging an earlier defeat against Lincoln Memorial, and after a set back against NCAA Division I Belmont University, Trevecca took two of three from West Alabama to battle back to within two games of the .500 mark in GSC competition.

Trevecca dropped the final game of the UWA series, a midweek contest with Missouri S&T, and the first two of a weekend set at Delta State, but as the schedule wound down, the Trojans caught fire. Trevecca won the final game of the series at DSU, then blasted Lane 19-5 in their last non-conference game of the year, and that set off a run that saw the Trojans win seven of their final eight regular season contests. In that span, Trevecca swept Alabama-Huntsville at home, and they wrapped up the regular season with a series win on the road at Lee.

Trevecca rallied to finish the season at 17-16 in the GSC, a record which was good enough to earn them the six seed in the GSC Championships. The Trojans dropped their tournament opener 7-5 to third-seeded West Florida, but after a day off on Saturday, the Trojans erased an early 2-0 deficit, and scored the winning runs in the top of the ninth to eliminate Lee from the tournament. The season ended the following day in a 9-5 loss to Montevallo, but the Trojans campaign ended with their heads held high after the late season surge.

MASHVILLE ERA CONTINUED
Trevecca continued to pound the baseball in 2025, as they launched 63 home runs. The total marked the third-best mark in the Trojans' NCAA-era, with each of those three totals coming in the past four seasons. The totals are also the top three season marks for round trippers since the outfield fences were pushed back to their current distances following the 2003 season.

SAIN, TROJANS CLOSING IN ON MILESTONES
Through five seasons as the Trojans' skipper, Chase Sain has amassed a record of 160-99 - a mark that see him currently in fifth place on the Trojans' all-time coaching wins list. Both Sain and the team as a whole sit on the precipice of milestone wins. Sain trails TNU Hall of Fame head coach and program founder Bill Green by only two victories heading into the 2026 campaign, and Trevecca is only four wins shy of the 1,500th victory in Program history.
