NASHVILLE – Bob Amity, an NAIA All-American who completed his Trevecca baseball career with a .382 batting average and ranked among the program's career leaders in six major offensive categories at the time of his graduation, is a member of the 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class.
Trevecca Athletics officially announces Amity as a member of the 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class. The 2026 Class is scheduled to be inducted during Trevecca's Homecoming Weekend. The induction ceremony for the 2026 Class of the Trevecca Athletics Hall of Fame is set for Saturday, November 7 at 9:00 AM in the Boone Convocation Center on the Trevecca campus.
The 2026-27 school year marks the 125th anniversary of Trevecca's founding in 1901, adding significance to a Hall of Fame class connected to multiple eras of Trevecca Athletics history.
The 2026 Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be the largest in Trevecca Athletics history, celebrating the rich Trojan history during the 125th Trevecca Anniversary Celebration.
Amity played for the Trevecca baseball program during the 1978, 1979, 1981, and 1982 seasons and completed his career as one of the most productive offensive players of Trevecca's NAIA Era.
AN ALL-AMERICAN CAREER
Amity earned NAIA All-America honors in 1982 and was a two-time all-conference selection during his Trevecca career.
His Hall of Fame career numbers include a .382 batting average, 115 hits, 85 runs scored, 21 doubles, 13 home runs, and 84 RBI.
At the time of his graduation, Amity's .382 career average was the highest in Trevecca baseball history. It currently ranks 10th among Trevecca players from the NAIA Era.
His 85 runs scored ranked seventh in program history at the time of his graduation, while his 115 hits ranked seventh, 21 doubles ranked fifth, 13 home runs ranked fifth, and 84 RBI ranked fourth.
Amity also went 11-for-15 in stolen-base attempts during his career.
1982 ALL-AMERICAN SEASON
Amity completed his Trevecca career with an NAIA All-America season in 1982.
He batted .397, including 60 hits in 151 at-bats, scored 45 runs, and drove in 40 RBI.
The .397 average was the fourth-highest single-season batting average in program history at the time.
One of the defining statistical notes from his senior season was his ability to put the ball in play consistently.
Amity struck out only once in 150 at-bats, with the strikeout coming on a foul tip held by the catcher.
The season completed a career that placed him among Trevecca's statistical leaders across nearly every major offensive category.
FOUR SEASONS WITH THE TROJANS
Amity earned all-conference honors during the 1981 season while batting .360 and scoring 32 runs.
He also hit .286 in 1979 and .230 as a freshman in 1978 before developing into an all-conference and eventually an All-American performer.
His progression culminated in the .397 All-America season in 1982 and a career batting average that stood as the best in Trevecca history when he completed his playing career.
A PLACE IN TREVECCA BASEBALL HISTORY
Amity's Hall of Fame career connects to an early era of Trevecca baseball and a generation of players who established many of the statistical standards used to measure the program for decades.
His NAIA All-America honor, two all-conference selections, and standing among Trevecca's career leaders in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI established a résumé worthy of a permanent place in the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame.
