WEST POINT, Miss. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team played its second tournament of the year at this week's 2025 Samuel T. Dunning Invitational, hosted by Delta State University at the Old Waverly Golf Club. The course is played to a par of 72 over 6,967 yards.
The Trojans finished fourth overall as a team and Alex Hamm was the low Trojan, finishing fourth in the field with a three-under par 213 (72-70-71). Maddox Burton finished 16th with a four-over 220 (77-70-73).
Hamm finished nine-under-par on the par five holes, giving him a tournament best 4.25 average. Hamm also averaged even-par on the par three holes, which placed him tenth in the field. Hamm, who had an eagle in the first round, finished the 54-hole event with 12 birdies, ranking him sixth in the field.
Hamm is one of nine golfers in the field to post an under-par tournament score.
The field included 14 teams and 74 individual golfers.

TROJAN HIGHLIGHTS
Maddox Burton finished eighth in the field with a 4.10 average on the par four holes. Burton had the second most birdies for the Trojans, sinking eight. Burton also finished in the top 10 with his 37 pars, finishing fifth overall.
Burton and Hamm both shot a two-under-par round in the second round on Monday. Making them one of ten in the field to put up red rounds and they tied for the third best second round score.
Alex Hamm led the Trojans through two rounds and had an eagle during his first round even-par 72. Hamm had three birdies as well in that first round and another five birdies in the second round, a two-under 70.
Through the first two rounds, Trevecca ranked second on the par five holes, averaging 4.70 (-12) per hole. The team tied for fourth on the par three holes with a 3.17 average.
UP NEXT
In October, the team plays at a second Delta State University hosted event, this time the W. Derrall Foreman Invitational October 20-21 at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Miss.
The final fall event is the Citrus Intercollegiate hosted by the Nova Southeastern at the Champiosngate course in Championsgate, Florida October 27-28.
