BIRMINGHAM – The Trevecca Nazarene University Track & Field teams finished the UAB Spring Invite Saturday at the UAB Track & Field Complex with more records falling.
Saturday Notes
The 4x100m team of Grant Allen, Julius Turnipseed IV, Dayton Floyd, and Zion Griffin set a new Trevecca record with a time of 41.90, it is also the fourth best time in the Gulf South this season.
Zion Griffin lower the Trevecca 200m record with a 21.52. Not only is it a new Trevecca school record, but it is also the second best Gulf South time this season. His time was good enough to finish third in the field. It is the sixth best time in the NCAA DII South Region this year.
Friday Notes
The 4x200m relay team, establishing a new school record with a second-place finish, crossing the line at 1:28.34. The team included Grant Allen, Isaac Temko, Noel Chambers, and Julius Turnipseed IV.
Jack Jaeger posted the second best 2000m steeplechase time in program history, coming in at 6:24.99 to place second in the UAB meet. Just one second off the record held by Camren Warner.
Ashley Alsvig came in under the 8:00 mark in the 2000m steeplechase, 7:56.33, giving her the second best time in program history, just the second to come in under the 8:00 mark.
Campbell Johnson threw the javelin 38.01m, the second best in school history.
