NASHVILLE – Juluis Turnipseed IV, a freshman on the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojan track and field team, is the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week for the week ending, Sunday, March 23, 2025. It is the third time this season for the Kipp Nashville Collegiate product to earn the conference award. 

His record setting season continued with a new school record in the 400m dash at the Lee Invitational. He recorded a 48.15 which is the fastest outdoor time this season in the Gulf South and the fifth fastest in the NCAA South Region. Not just freshman, but all competitors. 

He also joined the 4x400m relay team to set a new school record of 3:16.37. The team - Lucas Baggott, Noel Chambers, Isaac Temko, and Julius Turnipseed IV - finished second overall. Their time is the best in the Gulf South this season and fourth best in the NCAA South Region.

He currently has the sixth best 200m time in the Gulf South and is sixth in the 100m. The 4x100m relay time is third best in the league. 

During the indoor season he posted the second best 400m time (47.94) which was a NCAA Provisional Time. 

Turnipseed and the Trojans are at the UAB Invitational this weekend.
