Trevecca Track Field | Trojans Make Noise at Jud Logan Light Giver Day One

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University track and field teams competed for the third time this season and the final outing leading up to the Trojans first trip to the Gulf South Conference Indoor Championships.

 

Dayton Floyd is off to a strong start in the Heptathlon. His 2399 points through the first four events is already ranked seventh best in school history. He is 12th (of 26) in the field. He has three events remaining on Saturday. Friday, he won the 60m Dash with the ninth fastest time in school history - 7.14. He also recorded the third best high jump try in school history – 1.67m.

 

The Men's Distance Medley Relay team set a school record with a 10:34.99 finish. The quartet of Hamzah Abo-Hashema, Moritz Freyer, Harley Kirkpatrick, Caden Meeks made the historical run.

  

Joshua Novotny finished seventh (of 62) in the 5,000m Run with a time of 15:23.26.

 

Francesco Messina recorded the third best Triple Jump try – 12.51m.

 

Remy Arney came in eleventh (of 36) in the 5,000m Run with a time of 18:38.07. Her time is the fifth best in school history.

 

Campbell Johnson logged the third best Pentathlon point total (2459) in school history on the back of the third best 60m Hurdle finish in school history – 10.51.  

 

Jamelia Stovall ran the 200m Dash in a time of 28.34, the third fastest in Trevecca history. She was followed closely by teammates Chane de Beer (28.42) and Ava Skaggs (28.50) who recorded the fourth and sixth fastest times in school history.

 

The second and final day of the Light Giver Open on Saturday (Feb. 8), starting at 9:20 a.m..

Following the trip to Ashland, the team is setting their sights on the first trip to the Gulf South Conference Championships. In their first year in the GSC, the Trojans will join the field at the 2025 GSC Indoor Championships at the renowned Birmingham CrossPlex February 20-21, 2025.
