NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University track and field teams are opening their 2025 season across town at the Vanderbilt Commodore Challenge. After a Friday snowstorm hit Middle Tennessee, Friday's events moved to Saturday making the Commodore Challenge a one-day meet. The Trojans get to test their offseason training at the David Williams Recreation and Wellness Center on the Vanderbilt campus.
Trevecca joins 17 other schools in the field - Austin Peay, Belmont, Campbellsville, Cumberland (Tenn.), Indiana, Lindsey Wilson, Lipscomb, McNeese State, McPherson, MTSU, Murray State, Ole Miss, Southern Indiana, Southern Wesleyan, UT Martin, Vanderbilt and William Carey.
This is the twelfth track and field season at Trevecca, but just the eleventh indoor season. The first indoor season came during the 2014-15 season.
Austin Selby, who is in his twelfth season leading the cross country and track and field programs, is leading the Trojans into their first season in the Gulf South Conference. Selby earned one Great Midwest coach of the year honor.
