CALERA, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team opened the season at the University of Montevallo hosted Full Moon BBQ Invitational on Monday and finished the 36-hole event in third place on Tuesday.
The team posted a 294-289=583, moving up to third place overall. The second round 289 is lower than all but one round the team posted last year and the 583 is lower than any 36-hole result they posted a year ago.
Maddox Burton led the team with a 73-72=145, good enough for a seventh-place finish in the field of 43. The 145 equals his career-best 36-hole record.
Alex Hamm carded a 67, one short of his career best, a 66 in the second round at last year's The Buddy hosted by Murray State. Hamm carded four birdies and 14 pars in Tuesday's second round.

TROJAN INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Thibau De Lange
De Lange carded four birdies in his opening round as a Trojans. He birdied two holes on the front and the back nine, turning in a 36 on the back nine. He added another birdie on Tuesday, pushing his tournament total to five.
Maddox Burton
Burton put up red numbers on three holes on Tuesday and four holes on Monday, for a total of seven for the tournament.
Wilson Borders
Borders had one birdie in Monday's opening round. Borders shot one over on the back nine.
Alex Hamm
Hamm only had one round better last year than this week's 146. Hamm carded one birdie in Monday's opening round and added four on Tuesday, giving him five for the tournament.
William Moser
This 36-hole total is better than all but one tournament last season. Moser grabbed on birdie in the opening round, shooting one over on the back nine Monday. On Tuesday he carded four more birdies to run his tournament total to five.
TROJAN TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
The team collected seven birdies on the round.

The Trojans head to the Delta State University Invitational, in West Point, Miss., September 23-24 at the Mossy Oak Golf Club.
TNU tee's it up again on Oct. 21-22 at the Lee University Invitational at the Bear Trace Course at Harrison Bay.
The final fall event is at the ChampionsGate Golf Club in Championsgate, Florida Oct. 28-29 at the Citrus Intercollegiate.
