INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in school history, the Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team has reached the NCAA Midwest Regionals as the tournament's number seven seed.
Seventh seeded Trevecca opens the Midwest Region Site #2 against the host and second seeded University of Indianapolis on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 AM. Trevecca is the Great Midwest Champions, taking the conference tournament in four straight games.
It is the 17th overall appearance for UIndy all-time. The Greyhounds are 27-32 in NCAA postseason play. The Hounds had a historic run last season, sweeping both the regional and super regional on route to their third regional crown in program history. The Hounds are the GLVC regular season champions.
Also in the field are third seed Maryville University (38-17) the GLVC Tournament Champions and sixth seed Grand Valley State University (30-23) the GLIAC Champions.

NCAA MIDWEST REGIONALS
The Trojans have advanced to the NCAA Div. II Regional just once, in 2021. After winning the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Great Midwest tournament titles, the Trojans did not advance because the Great Midwest, a new league in provisional status, didn't have an automatic bid and the Trojans also were not eligible for an at large bid early because of their provisional status as a new member. The Trojans first appearance came when the G-MAC and the Trojans had both moved past the provisional status and were able to earn an automatically bid in 2021. Now, the Trojans have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament again with the league title and automatic bid.
In their first turn at the NCAA postseason, Trevecca nearly completed the sweep of the Midwest Region in 2021, finishing the tournament as champions with a 4-1 record and a run differential of +14 (37-23).
HISTORY | TREVECCA VS UINDY
Trevecca and UIndy are tied 2-2 through four games played all-time. The Hounds bested the Trojans in the first two games during the 2013 season while Trevecca returned the favor winning the most recent pair of games in the 2015 campaign.
SEASON NOTES
The Trojans, picked to finish third in the 2024 Great Midwest Preseason Coaches' Poll, came in fourth in the regular season standings with a 20-12 record and went on to claim the program's fifth tournament league title.
Trevecca is 18-7 at home this season and 9-13 on the road. Making them 5-1 in neutral site games.
Trevecca opened the season winning six of its first seven non-conference games. Overall, in the non-conference, including midweek games played later in the season, the Trojans went 8-9.
After splitting their first Great Midwest series of the season with Lake Erie, the Trojans went on to close out the month of March taking three of four from Malone in Nashville and completing a four-game sweep of Hillsdale College. Trevecca outscored the Hillsdale Chargers, 65-22 during the four-game stretch.
Despite winning just a single game versus Walsh, the Trojans went on to wrestle series wins away from both Kentucky Wesleyan (three of four) and Cedarville (three of four) before stomping Carson-Newman in their final non-conference game of the season.
The Trojans combined for a home run cycle all in the first inning of the 18-5 rout of the CNU Eagles. In fact, a total of five home runs were smashed in that game, tying the NCAA Div. II record for a Trevecca team. Read more on that game, here.
In the final two regular season series, the Trojans just missed sweeping conference newcomer Thomas More University, winning three of four road games in Kentucky before dropping just their second Great Midwest series of the season to Ohio Dominican to complete the regular season.
The Trojans chomped right through the competition at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference outscoring opponents 33-21 during the four-game run. After opening with a 3-1 win over Walsh after a complete game from conference Pitcher of the Year, Caleb Marks, the Trojans won two straight over tournament favorites Ashland University. Tiffin challenged Trevecca in the conference championship game where the Trojans outlasted the Dragons, 14-9.
