Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (8-2) swept a double header with Quincy University on Monday at the Trevecca Softball Complex on the Hill.
Trevecca won both games 8-0 and improved to 4-1 all-time versus the Hawks. The Trojans have won the last four in the series, all in shutouts and three games were ended early due to the run-rule.

Independence Bank Blue Bridge Battle is next, the 20-team event is hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan in Evansville, Ind. at Deaconess Sports Park. HOW IT HAPPENED
GM 1: TNU 8, Quincy 0 - F
Trevecca opened the game with a six-run first and put the run-rule in play with a two-run fourth. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases for
Sarah Nicholson who delivered a three-run double, scoring
Anna Bennett,
Addy Grace Summers, and
Kendall Andrews.
Malone Thrift reached on a hit-by-pitch between two outs, then Thrift scored as
Sydney McCormick reached on an error. Grace Kirby and
Anna Bennett singled back-to-back driving in McCormick and Kirby, respectively.
Kendall Andrews drove one over the center field wall with
Addy Grace Summers on to add on two RBI, putting the Trojans up 8-0.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
· The Trojans collected seven hits and had one error.

Alex Behnke (2-0) got the win with four innings of shutout work, allowing three hits and a walk. She had one strike out.

Brianna Asmondy pitched a scoreless inning the fifth to close out the game.

Addy Grace Summers went 1-1 with two runs scored and reached twice with a walk.

Trevecca started fast again, taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. They added a run in the second, two in the fourth, and three in the fifth.
Anna Bennett led off the game with a single and an out later,
Kendall Andrews walked before
Maddie Poschke singled to drive in Bennett.
Annabelle Ellis reached on a fielder's choice, moving Andrews to third. Andrews then scored on a double-steal to put the Trojans up 2-0. In the second,
Addy Grace Summers reached on a fielder's choice, scoring
Kylie Chetakian who had reached on a single to lead off the inning.
In the third,
Kendall Andrews reached on a error, scoring
Addy Grace Summers who had reached on a hit-by-pitch.
Maddie Poschke doubled to drive in Andrews.
In the fifth,
Callie Williams grounded out, but drove in
Raegan Hunter who was pinch hitting for
Brianna Asmondy who reached on a single.
Malone Thrift scored on a
Anna Bennett single,
Kendall Andrews ended the game with an RBI-single that drove in
Anna Bennett.

Ashlan Sensing (3-2), this week's G-MAC Pitcher of the Week, got the win with a complete game, going five innings and allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out nine.

The Trojans head North to play in the Kentucky Wesleyan College hosted Blue Bridge Invitational in Evansville, Ind. TNU opens with Davenport University (2-3) on Friday (Feb. 23) at 2:00 PM. Immediately following, the Purple White take on McKendree University (2-3) at 4:00 PM. On Saturday, the Trojans play No. 10 University of Indianapolis (6-1) at 10:00 AM and former G-MAC member Davis & Elkins College (6-2) at Noon.

The Trojans travel to Jackson, Tenn. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 to take on future Gulf South Conference foe Union University in a double header. The Bulldogs are 7-4 overall. Trevecca leads the series in the NCAA Division II Era 9-5. The Trojans have won the last six in the series.
