Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (8-2, 1-1 Great Midwest) needed five sets to pick up its first Great Midwest Athletic Conference victory of the season at Cedarville University (2-4, 1-1 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon at the Callan Athletic Center.

THE SERIES
The Trojans collected their fifth victory versus the Yellow Jackets in the all-time series. Although Cedarville leads 16-5, the Trojans ending an eight-match losing streak versus the Yellowjackets.
MATCH DETAILS
Recovering from last night's four-set loss to Ohio Dominican, the Trojans offense came out sluggish versus the Yellowjackets. Cedarville collected the opening set, 25-14 after outhitting the Trevecca .244 to -.047. The second set favored the Trojans as they jumped out to an early 8-3 lead behind Claire Hindman's service game. Kills by Ellie Buffler, Sami Raley, and Chloee McDaniel closed things off for a 25-18 win. Despite outhitting the Yellowjackets in the third, it was Cedarville who came out on top to take two sets to one lead, 25-21. Cedarville took the first point and never trailed in third. They did the same in the fourth, but despite holding a lead for the majority of the set, couldn't finish. They closed the fourth on an impressive 9-3 run. Seven of those nine points were kills, while the Yellowjackets allowed two attack errors to fuel their loss. For the fourth consecutive set, the Yellowjackets stole the opening point, but the Trojans wasted little time recapturing their late fourth set momentum. Trevecca jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the fifth and did not look back. A Chloee McDaniel service ace gave Trevecca the win, 15-7.

- Morgan McMurray produced the best hitting percentage on the day, .533 (8 K, 0 E, 15 TA).
- Ellie Buffler collected her fourth double-double on the season with 15 kills and 13 digs.
THE TEAM
Trevecca produced a .201 hitting percentage as a squad, while Cedarville offered a .165 mark. The Trojans earned the edge in digs, 69-64, and assists 54-49. It was the Yellowjackets who tallied 11 service aces to the Trojans seven.

Trevecca hosts another midweek non-conference match next Tuesday when Carson-Newman (5-5, 1-1 SAC) visits Trojan Fieldhouse. First serve with the Eagles is set for 6 p.m.
