Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – NCAA Division II No. 23 Trevecca Nazarene University baseball (24-10, 19-5 Great Midwest) split their four-game series with Kentucky Wesleyan College (21-11, 18-6 Great Midwest) after the Panthers took both games on Saturday between the top two teams in the Great Midwest standings. Trevecca took the first two games on Friday, but KWC won 4-2 and 9-7 on Saturday.
The Trojans honored 15 seniors following the doubleheader, their last games at Jackson Field.
Trevecca coach Chase Sain honored the memory of Trevecca All-American and Hall of Famer who passed away in January during an auto accident. His wife, Lynnette, was on hand and their three daughters (Halle, Hanna, Haléna) joined together to throw out the first pitch before the second game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GM 1
Braden Odom hit the first pitch in the bottom of the first out of Jackson Field for a 1-0 Trojan lead. The Panthers finally figured out Trevecca starter Chase Haley after the senior retired the first five Panthers. Three straight hits resulted in an RBI single from Hunter Combs for a 1-1 score. Another RBI-single in the fourth put the Panthers up 2-1. A homerun from Lane Kennemore put the Panthers up 3-1 in the fifth before the Trojans answered with a run with three consecutive hits and a Shawn Wallwork single driving in Jordan Jackson. Wesleyan added an insurance run in the sixth for the 4-2 final.
GM 2
The Panther scored first with a two-run second-inning and added a run in each of the next four innings before adding two more runs in the seventh. Trevecca scored their first run in the third and added three in the fourth, tying the game 4-4. Following four consecutive runs by the Panthers, the Trojans trailed 8-4. In the bottom of the eight, the Trojans put three runs on the board, cutting the lead to one at 8-7. The Panthers added a run in the top of the ninth. The Trojans put the tying run on base in the ninth, but the Trojans missed two opportunities to cut into the lead.
STATS REPORT
GM 1
Braden Odom paced the Trojans with a 2-4 performance. Chase Haley (5-1) took his first loss of the season with 5.2 innings of work with four strikeouts.
GM 2
Braden Odom and Shawn Wallwork each produced three hits. Odom drove in three runs and Wallwork two. Jordan Jackson went 2-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. Odom and Jackson each hit a double. Odom and Jackson added a stolen base. Davis Jackson (3-1) took the loss in relief of starter Zeke Lecomte.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca concludes their regular season schedule with a pair of doubleheaders next weekend at Cedarville University (17-17, 14-12 Great Midwest).
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships are May 12-15 in Mason, Ohio at Prasco Park.
